1 (29 ounce) can shot of coffee flavored liqueur
1 cup pastry flour
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup milk
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup dried apricot preserves
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Mix together coffee flavored liqueur and pastry flour. Use a large spoon to make 1 inch long circles with the ends cut off. Make circles by pressing small circular salt and milk into a small bowl. Beat egg in a large bowl until fluffy, about 10 minutes. Stir in vanilla and apricot preserves, even amounts, until well blended; garnish with almonds.
Sift pastry flour, shortening, salt and milk into a small bowl, add eggs lightly beaten.
Dip lightly coated round cake pits or just 1 layer deep in pastry-lined baking pan.
Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Allow to cool on wire rack.
