1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons prepared brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon crushed ginger
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
In large skillet, melt butter. Cook ham, pecans and chives for about 30 seconds before stirring. Remove from skillet and cool slightly.
Cool ham and pecans in refrigerator, then dredge in brown sugar. Cover skillet and place over low heat. Adjust oven temperature.
When the ham and pecans are cooked, remove them from the pan and place them into the skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until butter or margarine is melted and the ingredients are covered. Remove from heat.
Pour vinegar over pecans and sprinkle with chopped pecans. Cover skillet and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until well-covered.
Cool and serve inside foil.
