Easy African-American Raisin Lemon Bread Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup warm water (120 degrees F/69 degrees C)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

3 teaspoons white sugar

1 cup whipping cream

1 egg

2 tablespoons brandy

1 tablespoon whisky

1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar

Directions

In a medium bowl, combine water, lemon juice, sugar, whipping cream, egg, brandy and vinegar.

Heat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), or until a wooden spoon inserted into the center of a loaf comes out clean. Broil loaf in oven 8 minutes, or until a large area is clear of bubbles. Remove from oven. Brush with milk/vinegar drippings. Drop bread by tablespoon onto loaf.

Return loaf to oven for 15 minutes, or until fluffy and golden brown. Remove loaf from oven, place on warm plate before broiling.
