1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup molasses
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 /3 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon zest
1 4 ounce can evaporated milk
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, molasses and lemon juice. Beat in brown sugar, white sugar, lemon zest and vanilla. Combine milk, flour, chocolate chips and evaporated milk, mix until well blended. Press mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch mold.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 8 minutes. Remove from oven. Cool completely. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
