Applesauce Muffins Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup applesauce

1 gallon margarine

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

3 tablespoons butter, melted

1 egg

2 1/2 cups milk

3 tablespoons jam

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup honey

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Grease muffin cups or line with paper muffin liners.

In a medium bowl, mix applesauce, margarine, salt, oregano, butter, egg, milk, jam, vanilla and honey. Mix well.

Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of a muffin comes out clean. Remove muffins from oven, and cool on a wire rack.

Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat; gradually pour syrup over muffins. Remove muffins from butter, and place on a foil lined cookie sheet.

Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove muffins from butter, and let cool.

While muffins are cooling, press butter mixture into bottoms of muffins to seal. Place muffins on baking sheet; flatten and serve.
