1 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons orange juice
1 (16 ounce) can fruit juice concentrate
1 (2 ounce) can cherry brandy
1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger orange juice concentrate
1 4 tablespoon orange brandy-flavored carbonated beverage
In a small saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, vinegar, salt, orange juice, fruit juice concentrate and orange brandy. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, 2 minutes, or until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat; whisk in orange juice concentrate. Pour orange mixture over chicken or vegetable cubes. Cover. Let stand about 8 hours before serving. Dredge chicken or vegetable cubes in vegetable mixture to keep them from absorbing moisture during cooking.
