The Nutcracker Recipe

Ingredients

1/4 cup butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/3 cup chopped pecans

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (8 ounce) jars or pans.

In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the vanilla. Combine the flour, pecans and salt; Beat with a coffee comb or wooden spoon. Fill jars or pans with crushed cookies.

Place the cookies in the prepared jars or pans. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 8 hours, or until light brown. Cool on racks.
