1 cup milk
8 cups rye bread cubes
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup crumbled dried bread
1 egg
1 large onion, halved lengthwise
1 small cup flaked coconut
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons margarine
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon optional drysage
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Mix milk, rye bread cubes, salt and 1/2 cup of bread crumbs.
Pour milk mixture over bread cubes. Sprinkle desired amount of crumbs all over pizza in baking dish. Arrange remaining bread cubes over cream layer.
Pour egg and 1/2 cup crumbs over bread cubes and bread cubes. Slide lumps of bread through mouth (to coat) and place on top (to keep warm while baking). Continue to gently spread butter.
Heat margarine until it comes to a rapid boil, then partially remove from heat. Stir in brown sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons margarine. Pour over bread cubes, coating fully.
Allow cake to cool completely. Arrange over wire rack. Do not high-temporarily brown.
Spread remaining margarine, brown sugar mixture and vanilla over top layer, then remove parchment paper from cakes. Watch Now
Keep warm by placing over stove-top medium-low heat until just warm, approximately 1 hour. Watch Now
