1 (18.75 ounce) package yellow cake mix
3 (3 ounce) packages instant lemon pudding mix
1 (2 ounce) can lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
1 (3 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour two 8-inch round baking pans.
Place cake mix in the bottom of one lightly greased 8-inch pan; add lemon juice. Pour lemon-lime soda over cake, stirring. Cover and let stand for 1 hour.
On a separate tray, pour lemon-lime carbonated beverage over cake. Drizzle with remaining lemon soda. Combine lemon-lime soda and whipped topping. Place on top and sprinkle with remaining lemon-lime soda.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes.
