2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup light corn syrup
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, combine flour, salt, corn syrup, baking powder and shortening. Stir until combined. Stir in milk, eggs and vanilla until mixture is smooth. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool completely.
