1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
3/4 cup water
4 eggs, beaten
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk
3 tablespoons margarine
3 egg yolks
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar for dusting
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with foil. Melt butter in six large saucepan for 1 minute at low-moderate heat; bring to a full rolling boil. Remove from heat, and whisk in sugar, water, and beaten eggs. Bring to a boil; boil, stirring continuously, for 2 minutes. Mix flour into butter mixture; stir in chocolate glaze, 1/2 cup at a time.
Beat egg yolk first, then sprinkle with 1/4 cup margarine, then whisk egg yolk and 3/4 cup margarine into chocolate. Mix together. Stir egg whites into chocolate mixture. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup margarine on top. Dust lightly with cocoa and beeswax.
Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Chill before serving. I like this pie reasonably warm.
