These were very good. I made the fruit, not the crust. The fruit is very easy to make and leads to better fruit all around. The texture and gravity of the crust were good, just a tad bit too crispy. Next time I'll add more apples, but these were good enough for now. I might experiment with some spices next time, but this recipe is forgiving.

Boring, Boring. You would be better off just making one large fruit and putting the raisins, pears, grapes and macadamias in there, or screwing the filling together and making a thicker fruit.

Aunt B's has been making these for years and they are always a big hit. As is, I don't wait for the holidays to smoke a turkey, chicken or duck and am ready to make these into pies. YUM!
