Apple Pie IV Recipe

Ingredients

3 1/2 cups apples, peeled and cored

3/4 cup butter

1 pinch ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 teaspoon white sugar

2 teaspoons lemon juice

1 1/2 teaspoons lemon zest

2 tablespoons boiling water

1 teaspoon lemon zest

2 teaspoons white sugar for decoration

2 tablespoons butter

3 tablespoons margarine, melted

1 cup white sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a medium bowl, stir apples and butter until thoroughly combined. Transfer mixture to a large pan, and beat with a fork until apples are coated with butter. Stir in nutmeg. Mix lemon zest and lemon juice into the butter mixture, and then stir in boiling water. Add lemon zest, sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, sugar, and margarine. Mix thoroughly. Pour mixture into the prepared pie crust.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until crust is golden brown. Cool before cutting into squares.
