2 (1 ounce) packages dry onion flavored Jell-O mix
1 cup boiling water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 (16 ounce) can crushed pineapple
2 bunches green onions, chopped
In a saucepan, combine pineapple, green onions and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low. Cover and let stand overnight.
Meanwhile, dissolve gelatin and 1 cup boiling water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in the oil mixture and pineapple, green onions and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Pour into large mixing bowl.
Cover, and refrigerate until serving time. Cover, and refrigerate further until serving time. Serve over hamburger, shrimp or fish.
