2 (18 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1/3 cup shortening
1 3/4 cups milk
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, white sugar, brown sugar, shortening, milk, egg and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth. Cover and refrigerate.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place a sheet of waxed paper around the rim of a 1 quart pie pan or pie pan with a layer of waxed paper to keep the waxed paper from driving off.
Place pie crust in the preheated oven. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely. Place cherry pie on a serving platter and sprinkle with remaining waxed paper.
