Oat White Bread Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups blanched white oats

1 1/2 cups water

1 cup vegetable oil

1 egg, beaten

1 1/2 cups lard

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup butter, softened

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/8 teaspoon baking soda

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Place grated Parmesan cheese in a separate 9x13 inch pan.

In a saucepan over medium heat, heat water and pour in oil. Bring to a boil, then stir in egg, lard, vanilla extract, butter and flour. Whisking constantly, bring mixture to a slow boil. Pour mixture into pan, continuing to stir. Sprinkle with baking powder.

Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes.

Remove bread from oven. Sprinkle remaining tablespoon of butter across loaf top. Let cool completely on a wire rack. Press lard into bottom of loaf to support gourmet texture. (Note: Grate Parmesan cheese for crispy dinner chocolate ring). I like to layer the foil, sprinkled with cocoa, on top, to help prolong the chocolate filling. Melt chocolate filling in 3-quart heavy-duty saucepan, stirring occasionally, until thickened; stir in lard. Divide pan into four parts, grease and flour the top and bottom of each part.

Arrange bread slices over base of loaf in 9x13 inch baking pan. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Warm the butter in the microwave or in a large saucepan, stirring occasionally, until golden; remove from heat.

Line bottom and bottom of loaf with sliced almonds. Pour 1/2 cup of melted butter over almonds. (Note: In a large bowl, beat 6 tablespoons butter and 1 cup cream cheese until smooth and creamy.)

Cut loaf crosswise into 4 pieces; place 1 layer above loaf. Spread 1/2 cup melted butter over bread, pressing lightly to moisten. Reserve 1/2 cup reserved mozzarella cheese slices. Place strips of bread end to end over bread; press remaining bread onto mozzarella cheese sandwiches.

Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes. Top loaf with remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese on sandwiches. Basting with remaining 1 cup melted butter as needed until cheese is bubbly.

Remove loaf from pan; brush remaining 1 cup butter on all sandwiches. Spoon remaining mozzarella cheese and 1/3 cup cheese sauce over bread and sandwiches. Spoon leftover mozzarella cheese sauce over sandwiches.

Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 minutes. Cool completely and serve warm.
