1 cup red wine
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped almonds
In a large bowl, mix wine, sugar, eggs, buttermilk, oil, vanilla, pecans, orange and chocolate chips. Beat on low speed until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the cake comes out clean. Cool completely, cut into thin slices and serve with tarts.
