1 1/2 pounds polished wheat cookies
3/4 cup butter, room temperature
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup cola-flavored carbonated beverage (such as Coca-Cola)
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Line cookie sheets with parchment paper, allowing sheets to sit slightly warm on warm kitchen counters.
Prepare butter and flour according to package instructions. Set aside. In a large bowl, cream together the eggs and the margarine until soft peaks form. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the chocolate chips. Stir in the milk, one cup at a time, until well blended. Add the nougat mixture then the walnuts. Drop dough by heaping handfuls onto prepared cookie sheets onto the prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes between the two sides of a double thickness glass bowl. Cool slightly and store in individual packaging.
