1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/8 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1/4 teaspoon dried sage
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/8 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/8 teaspoon dried thyme, chopped
1 tablespoon orange extract
3 slices bacon, diced
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spread bacon on pie crust.
In a large bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, basil, rosemary, sage, salt, oregano, rosemary, basil, thyme and basil. Mix well. Spread the mixture over pie crust.
Dredge the bacon slices in butter and spread over the mixture.
Slice warm bacon strips into 8 slices. Adjust bacon size and shape as desired. Dip bacon into butter mixture, then place bacon strips into pie crust.
Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven, until bacon is browned and crispy. Remove from oven. Let cool completely, then slice into thick slices.
