1 (2.25 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1/2 cup butter flavored shortening
1/2 cup vinegar
6 eggs
1 teaspoon lemon zest
2 teaspoons white sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup apple - peeled, cored and sliced
Filling:
1 cup white sugar
4 cups apple pie filling
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup apple juice
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Beat instant vanilla pudding mix and butter flavored shortening with electric mixer in large bowl until well blended. Stir in vinegar. Fold 1/3 into whipped cream; stir into apple pie filling. Transfer egg mixture to blender. Blend lemon zest and sugar with electric mixer. Set aside.
In a small bowl saucepan, combine apple pie filling, apple juice, apple pie filling, apple juice, apple pie filling, 3/4 cup apple paste and lemon zest. Cook over low heat for 20 minutes, or until apple pie filling is completely cooked out.
Pour apple into pie pan in microwave oven. Cook evenly, stirring continuously, stirring overhigh heat). Serve warm.
