1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a small bowl, cream together the butter, flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar until smooth. Beat the egg mixture into the creamed mixture, then mix in pecans. Spread evenly into a large baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool cake completely before frosting.
