1 pound lean ground beef
4 slices Italian bread, torn into small pieces
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1 cup diced onion
2 teaspoons prepared Dijon mustard
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 (1.25 ounce) package chili seasoning mix
1 cup ketchup
1 (14 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (8 ounce) can tomato paste
1 dash garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
Place lean ground beef in the bottom of a large resealable plastic bag; put the bread pieces in bag to keep warm.
Dredge the beef in water to keep it from sticking to the surface. Place sifted Worcestershire sauce and horseradish in bag.
Mix tomato paste and tomato paste, garlic salt, celery salt and chili seasoning mix. Shake well, pouring mixture over beef in bag. Seal bag and place in freezer for two to three hours, or overnight.
Remove the meat from the freezer bag, place under cool water, and let rest overnight. Then strip meat from bones, cut into 1 inch cubes, and shred.
very good, a little bland, i used olive oil instead of shortening, added the baking soda last. but still with slight seasoning.
Surprisingly good. Not what I expected. Another hit , gave it a poor rating but everything was tasty andsuitable for my family.
