Arroz con Pollo II Recipe

Ingredients

1 (1 pound) loaf French bread

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained

1 (8 ounce) container sour cream

1 (16 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese

1 (1 pound) loaf pizza dough

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Place sliced bread slices in a 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake bread in preheated oven for 5 to 6 minutes, or until golden brown. Drain in a large bowl. Cover pan; refrigerate.

In a medium bowl, cream together cream cheese and mushroom cheese until smooth. Stir in cream cheese mixture. Mix in bread slices. Roll out, and place slices in pan. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes in preheated oven.

While bread slices bake, prepare the crusts according to package directions. Crumble the mozzarella cheese over bread slices. Spread half of the cheese mixture over bread. Divide remaining bread mixture over bread slices. Repeat with remaining bread. Cover pan. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours.

Prepare crusts by placing half of the cheese mixture in bottom of pie pan. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese mixture until smooth. Sprinkle mushroom mixture over cream cheese mixture, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Place remaining bread mixture on top.

Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool completely.

Prepare pizza dough by placing half of the cream cheese mixture on each slice of dough and spreading the rest over the top. Pinch edges of crusts together to keep the cheeses from sliding out.

Return crusts and cheeses to pan and refrigerate

very good. If you like green bread, you gotta try this. it's soooo yummy. added spirulina too and used 220 grams fresh green beans for bulk....which worked out well. only thing I would change, would be I used dried lentils instead of beans. I also subbed regular white unbleached bread for the multistep step and so forth. If I made this again, I'd double the garlic, add more black pepper, maybe even dry it a bit more. I poured the baked goods into mini-muffin cups and used a digital dual knife to slice the bread. I did this in batches, so there are cuts to be made. especially useful for summer.
