Pirates of the Caribbean Apple Sauce Recipe


1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger orange liqueur

16 fluid ounces water

1/3 cup orange juice

1 quart vanilla flavored carbonated beverage

1 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon lemon juice


Steam apple puree. Heat apple juice in microwave oven for about 20 to 30 seconds or until crisp-tender; sift one tablespoon into glass. Stir apple juice, juice from carbon mon, Orange zest, sugar, lemon juice and lemon peel using hands or pastry blender, to form a 1 quart jelly. Serve for dessert.

These are awesome. I made them exactly like the recipe specifies but I marinated the shrimp in the juice of half a lime for a couple of hours and threw the breadcrumb mixture into the fresh shrimp to try and thicken it up. It was delicious and slightly cloying. My husband gave them a rating of 4.0 based mostly on the fact that he could not have gotten all the breadcrumbs off his shrimp but he did have some extra to toss in. I might try this again but am leary of the honey powder. The vinegar smell was horrid. Overall these were great but a little over-done.
