1 (18 ounce) package two-inch white cake mix
1 cup water
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups boiling water
2 cups milk
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
Preheat oven on broiler setting. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, pecans, butter, boiling water, milk, and whipped topping. Mix well. Pour mixture into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 75 to 90 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into squares. Serve warm or cold.
