Cocoee Bars Recipe

Ingredients

1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate ice cream

2 cups nonfat milk

2 cups white sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

1/2 cup margarine

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter, melted

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.

In a large bowl, cream together the milk and sugar until smooth. Mix in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Blend in the flour, baking soda and margarine, gradually mixing into the creamed mixture. Mix in the salt and butter. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow to cool. Cut into bars or squares. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

I had dill pickle chunks for the salad, but I didn't consider using rosemary at the time. This is such a simple, and inviting touch. I didn't put any garlic powder in, but I do use a garlic-loaded miso paste (rice in, broth out). I followed the recipe exactly, though; added fresh garlic cheddar chunks, and used herbed oak chips. I had all the ingredients pre-sliced in baggies in the fridge, ready to be made in the toaster oven at work tomorrow!
