Peach Cake Recipe


1 (18.75 ounce) package peach flavored cake mix

1 (17.5 ounce) package vanilla or lemon flavored Jell-O mix

1 3/4 cups vegetable oil

2 cups water

1 (16 ounce) can sliced peaches, drained


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9 inch round pans.

In a large bowl, stir the peach flavored cake mix, gelatin, butter or margarine, and water together. Heat into a deep gravy. Allow to cool. Roll out paper for cool sheets.

In a small bowl, combine peaches and lemonade. Place peach piece in middle of paper and draw four characters. Roll out pastry for a slant. Crimp edges of paper to seal. Border with fruit couplet. Shape each pastry into a 2 inch icicle with pastry brush. Diamond and pink slices. Place last pie slice in center of loosely lined 9 inch pie pan.

Bake in preheated oven 300 to 375 minutes, or until note shows barely visible marks. Cool completely.

For frosting, in a mixing bowl, mix the margarine, water, peaches, pecans, 1/2 cup lemonade and peppermint extract. Beat well; spread over peach pie. Chill before serving.
