1 cup butter, softened
7 tablespoons brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup chopped black peppercorn chile peppers
1 cup chopped fresh ginger root vegetables
1 cup sliced carrots
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/4 cup water
Mark a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, salt, egg, peppercorns and ginger and mix until smooth. Mix in carrots, peaches, cinnamon, 1/4 cup water, and cinnamon sticks. Add enough to bring the mixture just wet enough to be sticky, or you may test by adding enough water to make the mixture sticky.
Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, until top is golden brown. Cool slightly before cutting into strips.
