2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3/4 cup chocolate syrup
1/4 cup milk
1/3 cup vanilla extract
1 (3 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1 cup margarine
1 (15 ounce) can evaporated milk
1 (11 ounce) can sliced almonds, drained
Heat oil in large metal bowl or heavy saucepan over medium heat. Stir in chocolate syrup, milk, vanilla extract and pudding mix. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring constantly, for about 10 minutes or until mixture is thickened. Remove from heat. Stir in margarine or margarine, 1 cup at a time, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and pour mixture into prepared pan.
Peel and slice almonds into 1/3 inch squares. Pour mixture into prepared pan. Refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight before serving.
