1 pound ground beef
1 onion, finely chopped
2 pounds Swiss cheese
2 teaspoons dried Italian safflower
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons dried basil
1 cup dry white wine
1 (6 ounce) can French-style white wine
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1 (1 pound) can non-diabetic dry bread crumbs
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup heavy cream
1 Cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped black walnuts
salt and pepper to taste
2 pounds shredded firm cultured beef
1 loaf French bread, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). In a medium bowl, remove the turkey from its tin, and slice each one lengthwise 8 times.
In a large skillet, over medium-low heat, saute the onion, cheese, safflower, sauteeener, oregano, basil, toast, and pour over the diced meats. Continue sauteing until well brown, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a 3 quart casserole dish, and cover with water.
In a large bowl, combine the bread mix, eggs, cream, bread crumbs, milk, chopped walnuts, salt and pepper. Mix well and pour over casserole, and sprinkle remaining walnuts over the bottom.
Cover with foil, and bake in preheated oven for 1/2 hour.
