Apple Custard Pie II Recipe

Ingredients

2 apples - peeled, cored and diced

2/3 cup butter, softened

2 cups milk

1/4 teaspoon honey

1 3/4 cups vegetable oil

12 chocolate pears

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9-inch pie pans.

In a large bowl, mix the apples, butter, milk, honey, oil, and pears. Spread mixture evenly in the prepared pans.

Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove pears from oven and sprinkle top with remaining butter and milk mixture. Return pears to oven for 30 minutes. Remove pears from oven, sprinkle with chocolate syrup and serve warm.

I really enjoyed this meal. It was pretty straight forward--I used a can of tomato sauce, didn't have boullion cubes. I enjoyed the way the meat was cooked--not too fatty. I would have made it lighter by reducing the flour to a little more water. I would have also added garlic powder and/or onion powder. I used lean ground pork sausage meat--just because it was around. I wish we had bought more than one pound of ground beef for this! I will make this again!
