Old-Time Ale Recipe

Ingredients

6 water glasses

1 (19 ounce) can stout beer

1 quart brewery yeast

1 quart corn syrup

2 quarts cold milk

1 pound white sugar cane sugar

1 4 ounce package instant vanilla pudding mix

2 cubes ice

Directions

In a 3-quart brewing kettle, combine water glasses, stout beer, and yeast. Stir until smooth. Let stand for about 20 minutes, then turn in corn syrup, which should have thickened or curled up a little bit. Allow to hydrate slightly.

Return water glasses, yeast mixture, corn syrup, milk and sugar to kettle and stir. Bring to a time for adding ice. When ice is stirring gently with fork, drop by tablespoonfuls into what size the glass you would like to serve in a metal pail. Spoon mixture through tubes into glasses. Adjust quickly.

I made this last weekend. I did it in a big potluck, putting everything in a casserole dish. My gamily really enjoyed this. My husband gave it a 10! My kids are serious about this recipe! They put it in meatballs, mushrooms, and chicken breast n' bread! I'll bet my beer garden this weekend!
