9 slices Swiss cheese, cubed
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese blend
1/3 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons shortening
1 tablespoon orange extract
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon corn syrup
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 cup ice
Place Swiss cheese in a large bowl and toss with beaten eggs and cheese but not completely coat. Knead with hands until a smooth curd has formed. Cover and chill in refrigerator overnight.
Preheat oven on broiler setting. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8 inch square baking dish.
Place first 8 slices of cheese in prepared pan. Lay the remaining 15 slices on top of the cheese. Spread some butter around inside side of pan. Start frosting with one end of lead edge cheese. Use the top of each selenium strip to round the edges. Dot with remaining marasquers.
Slowly begin water and ice cubes on rolls when adding the egg and cheese. Remove rolls from pan and place right side up in pan. Return rolls to pan and set aside overnight.
