1 (9 inch) prepared caramel apple pie crust
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
4 egg whites
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon orange zest
3 cups sliced candied fruit
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Place pie crust in pie pan. Place apple slices on top and between pie slices. Cover whole pie with crust. Cover apple slices with crust. Seal edges of pie. Roast in preheated oven for 1 hour. Let rest 20 minutes.
Remove apple slices from oven and cut into pieces. Remove wheel of pastry; place pie on tines and crimp edges to seal. Fill pie cavity with apples and cut into thick slices. Cool completely over pie.
Delight in flavor of pie when served. Brush each piece of pie with confectioners' sugar; refrigerate 4 hours. Check during last minute of cooking or before serving. Serve with whipped cream or whipped cream topping.
