1 cup packed light brown sugar
4 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 cup shortening for frying
1 cup white sugar for frosting
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch pan.
In a large saucepan, combine brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, milk, vanilla extract, almond extract, shortening, 1 cup white sugar and brown sugar mixture. Cook over medium heat until bubbles form around edges.
Remove pan from heat, drain liquid and pour into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 55 to 60 minutes. Immediately remove from oven and cool completely, removing pan from oven. Frost with whipped cream to keep frosting moist. Drizzle with chocolate glaze if desired.
