1 pound lean beef slices
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried pestle- and pepper flakes
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 quarts chilled French or Italian wine
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1 teaspoon dried sage
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)
1/2 pound Swiss cheese, sliced (optional)
Place beef slices in a large bowl. In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, basil, pestle and pepper flakes.
In a medium saucepan, heat the cream over medium heat. Add wine and Worcestershire sauce, mix together. Stir in paprika, rosemary, sage, thyme, crushed cheese and beef slices.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1/2 hours. Remove from oven and sprinkle with French or Italian wine. Return to oven for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
Great basic recipe. I actually had some shredded swiss chard leftover in the fridge so I used that instead of the chard. I also substituted warm butter in the melted fat to make it a little less sweet. I love when hens are healthy and playful! Thanks for the recipe!
