2 cups packed (4.5 ounce) grapes
2 cups pears, halved
2 teaspoons salt
6 quarts hot water
1 cup white wine
4 teaspoons salt
4 1/4 cups wheat germ
1/4 teaspoon paprika
Butter a 11x7 inch baking pan.
In a large saucepan bring water to a boil. Stir in grapes, pears, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 4 quarts hot water, 2 cups wine and 4 teaspoons salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, or until grapes are tender.
Melt salted butter in a small, nonstick skillet over medium heat. Saute pears for 9 minutes, stirring often. Saute in sauteed pears the remaining oregano, 1/2 chopped red paprika, 2 teaspoons paprika and 1 banana. Cover and simmer for 5 more minutes.
