2 cups crushed wheat grain pita bread
2 (10 ounce) cans condensed milk
1 cup tomatoes and green chile sauce
1/2 cup crumbled figs
1/3 cup sprouted dried basil
1/3 cup fresh mint leaves
1/2 teaspoon dried red chile pepper
salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a 2 quart casserole dish.
In a large bowl, toss together the whole wheat pita bread mix, condensed milk, tomatoes and green chile sauce. Spread dressing over pita mix, then sprinkle with fresh basil and mint leaves. Cover with bottom of the prepared casserole. Fold the dough over the layers
Place the dough in a shallow baking pan. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, until lightly browned. Cool and slice. However, be sure the pita slices are large enough not to get too brown on the bottom. Layer the remaining pita bread mix, melted cheese, milk, fruits and spices (to taste).
