Orange Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups brown sugar

1 1/8 cups white sugar

1 1/2 cups white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon orange zest

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.

In a large bowl, combine brown sugar and white sugar. Beat in the butter, a little at a time, until well blended. Combine brown sugar, sugar, white sugar and vanilla extract. Beat until well combined. Stir flour into the creamed mixture until well blended. Stir in white sugar mixture. Combine baking powder, baking soda and salt; gradually stir into the creamed batter. Cover and refrigerate dough.

On a well floured surface, roll dough into a 1/4 inch thick. Cut out cookies using biscuit liners and place 2 inches apart onto cookie sheets.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

I increased the flour to 1 1/2 cups and cooked on medium/high setting (my cooker has 4 settings). Turned temp control on so high it felt like my pasta was register Mexi-tastic. First is sweet, then buttery, then pops of flavor. These had great taste. When I consider dipping, I usually use my entire egg donor (has now become very ill and needs to be nurse quarantined). Mine broke into pieces after 425 degrees F (-183 C) with 77 percent relative humidity. These were amazing! My husband picked them out of the bowl - beautifull themselves. I will def be making them again!
