1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon butter, softened
2 eggs
2 cups milk
1 cup margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 tablespoons rum
2 teaspoons almond extract
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
4 teaspoons water
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup chopped pecans
In a large bowl, mix together sugar, brown sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, butter, eggs, milk, margarine, vanilla extract, applesauce and bittersweet chocolate.
Spread the mixture evenly on the bottom of a large 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle the crust with 1/4 cup of the pecans. Roll the remaining pecans to fit perfectly, and steam them on top of the pecans.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pie comes out clean. Cool before cutting into bars.
