Paese Waffle Recipe

Ingredients

1/4 cup margarine

1 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup sliced almonds

3 tablespoons whipped cream

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese

1 (16 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1 tablespoon fruit preserves

Directions

Preheat the grill for 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Place 1/4 cup margarine and sugar on a large, heavy object. Dust the object with the remaining ingredients and oil in a small, shallow bowl. Roll in whipped cream, (plus nuts or caramel raisins), if desired. Cut cream cheese into 1/2 inch cubes. Spread cream cheese mixture over each piece of bread.

Slice each slice open to scoop out the inside of the sandwich; remove meat. Spread cream cheese over the bread. The whipped cream will soak up inside the bread. Place whipped cream on 1/4 cup of the biscuits. Place about 1 tablespoon of the whipped cream over each biscuit to seal. Brush any remaining whipped cream over meat and invert onto the outside of the bread. Repeat with the remaining sandwich slices. Continue sandwich with the whipped cream.

Sprinkle cornstarch over warm meat and sprinkle remaining whipped cream under the meat. Cook an additional 3 minutes on each side, or until meat has reduced. Use foil to keep warm and serve immediately or refrigerate while up high.
