Ham and Cheese Fizz Fizz: My Mom's Tomato Fizz Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 quarts milk

3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted

1 (10 ounce) can chopped yellow bell pepper

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup sliced onion

1 (4 ounce) can diced green chile peppers

1 (8 ounce) can mushrooms, drained

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 pound SOURD cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons chopped onion

1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper

1/2 pound Swiss cheese, sliced

Directions

Mix milk, butter and 1 teaspoon white sugar in small bowl. Stir in clarified butter or margarine until mixture remains stiff. Gradually pour 1/3 cup of milk mixture into creamy B-1-R plastic container.

Stir in softened cream cheese and saute in microwave for 1 minute, or until cheese is completely melted. Add sliced onion and green pepper; mix together.

Add cream cheese, onion and green bell pepper; mix together. Add mushrooms and mozzarella. Mix together.

Add sausage and pepper and cook in microwave for 2 to 3 minutes, or until sausage is evenly browned and pepper is tender.

This is a great way to use up some unused tomato paste. It is great on toast and you can even use it to make whipped cream. The only downside of this recipe, my mom noted, was the fact that it split fairly easily. Perhaps making 2 batches would make it easier to handle?
