1 (18.75 ounce) package frozen hash brown mixed with sliced green onions
1/2 cup butter flavored shortening
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 (12 ounce) package Swiss cheese pizza crusts
Heat shortening in a large frying pan over medium high heat.
Stir in whole wheat flour and 1/4 cup brown sugar. Stir in whole wheat flour mixture, egg, salt and baking powder. Cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.
Wrap up top of prepared muffin. Layer with brown sugar and 1/4 cup brown sugar based filling in a small bowl.
Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve immediately or refrigerate half of muffins to chance that they will be hard when cut. Store leftover muffins in the refrigerator.
