2 teaspoons butter or margarine
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 cup bourbon
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup chopped celery
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
Preheat grill for high heat.
Mix 1/2 cup butter and shortener in small bowl. Spread 1/4 cup mixture over each patty.
Heat shortening in large skillet over medium high heat. Add sugar; stir-fry until lightly browned, about 2 minutes. Stir in bourbon, onion, celery, salt, pepper and parsley. Boil until thickened, about 2 minutes. Add olive oil, lemon juice and lemon zest; heat over medium high heat.
Place burger on grill. Brown on all sides, turning once, about 10 minutes per side.
Remove burger from grill, discarding grease. Place on plate and sprinkle with remaining parsley, oregano and basil. Serve immediately.
