Golden Key Oatcakes Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup butter

1 cup brown sugar

1 3/4 cups white sugar

2 eggs

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

6 cups rolled oats

2 cups flaked coconut

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (220 degrees C).

To Make Garland: Melt butter in 9x9-inch baking dish. Stir together brown sugar, white sugar and brown sugar mix in a 3/4 cup of water; stir well. Blend oats and coconut, then sprinkle over mixture.

Bake, uncovered, at 450 degrees F (220 degrees C) for about 2 hours, or until puffed. Cool, and frost with edible frosting glittering coconut on top. Store covered for up to two days.
