Crab Spread Recipe

Ingredients

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese spread

1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms

1 (5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Spread 1/2 cup of cream cheese spread over cream cheese and mushroom slices.

Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Remove pan from oven and let stand for 5 minutes to cool completely.

I submitted this recipe several years ago as an experiment when learning about the site. It is great as-is but if I add anything it's WAY too sweet. I'd double the sugar but it really isn't creamy enough. I'd also double the vanilla but it's mostly there trying to hide the almond. Lacks spice flavors. I'd put BBQ sauce or sauce directly on, but what if I didn't have flavorings? I'd leave it as is and call it a sauce but I'd change the fundamental ingredient by removing the cream and replacing it with Light Philadelphia cream cheese. It comes out great but way too sweet. I'd double the sweetness and make it sweeter. Still need to mash the sweet potatoes but apart from thatmashed pota
