2 (9 inch) pie shells, baked
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups chopped pecans
3 1/2 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground white pepper
1 teaspoon apple pie spice mix
2 tablespoons corn syrup
1/2 cup pecans
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the sugar, salt, pepper, apple pie spice, corn syrup and pecans. Mix gently until it's incorporated. Roll the brownie mixture into patties. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow to cool completely on wire rack. Cut into 6 wedges and serve. For an even baked layer, serve the cake in the preheated oven covered with foil.
