1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
2 eggs
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup chopped bananas
1 1/4 cups chopped walnuts
1 cup margarine, melted
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Roll pastry into 1 inch cubes. Reserve 1/2 inch for a carving or to mark 8 slices.
In a large bowl, beat eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, 1 teaspoon vanilla, milk, bananas, walnuts and sugar, stirring just until moist. Stir in milk and mixture, mixing just until moistened.
Place graham cracker slices on the bottom half of pie crust. Spread evenly with reserved 1/2 inch graham cracker crust.
Bake in preheated oven until crust is golden brown, about 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely on wire rack.
To make filling: In a small bowl, mix together margarine, 1/3 cup sugar and 1 cup flour. Mix egg mixture into sugar mixture. Spread filling over graham cracker crust.
Remove crust from oven. Chill in refrigerator or in freezer, until serving. Garnish with sliced bananas, chopped walnuts and crushed pineapple.
