Slow Cooker Bacon Bits Recipe


4 slices bacon

4 slices processed American cheese

6 slices processed American cheese

2 eggs

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons milk

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup vinegar

1 (8 ounce) can sliced mushrooms

1 pound pork sausage

1 pint heavy cream

1/4 cup barbecue sauce

1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce


Preheat oven on broiler setting.

Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until crisp. Drain grease off skillet. Brush with olive oil until well coated. Stir in cheese and cheese cheese mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, until cheese mixture is melted and mixture begins to thicken.

Transfer bacon grease to a saucepan and stir in eggs, butter, milk, salt, vinegar, mushrooms, hot pepper sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Cover, and simmer briefly until eggs are set. Transfer bacon mixture to slow cooker, stirring just until joined. Stir sauce mixture into bacon grease. Cover, and cook on low setting for 25 minutes.

Broil until crisp, about one hour. Garnish with sauce and bacon bits.
