1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
1 pint white sugar
1 (3 ounce) can evaporated milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups milk chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
2 eggs
1/4 cup butter
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup cold water (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon hot water
In a large saucepan, combine pumpkin puree, sugar, evaporated milk, vanilla, milk chocolate chips, pecans, eggs, butter and cornstarch. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil 15 minutes, until mixture is thickened. Remove from heat, stirring occasionally. Stir in orange juice, cold water and pumpkin pie spice. Pour mixture into pie crust.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes. Cool before serving.
